Responsibilities:
- Co-develop, co-write and edit, post, analyze, and optimize captivating tech-oriented content for social channels (including LinkedIn, Instagram, YouTube, TikTok, Twitter, podcasts)
- Develop and execute on a monthly content calendar, share plans weekly, discuss/react/edit with same-day turnarounds
- Run monthly Instagram Lives (including promotion, live content moderation, audience question gathering)
- Launch and grow a weekly or monthly newsletter with top posts
- Analyze insights to help grow and reach new and established audiences
- Ideate and collaborate on new brand partnerships, content, courses, tutorials, book launches, and educational content
- Maintain a strong pulse on AI & tech news
- Potential to include social inbox management, engagement management, and content moderation
Basic Qualifications
- Ability to generate thoughtful, captivating, content consistently; can strategically reproduce content to maximize impact (given one topic, can create multiple engaging posts across several channels)
- Excellent organizational and writing skills, strong attention to detail, able to manage multiple projects at the same time
- Active social media scroller, understands AI social media zeitgeist, follows tech and AI feeds
- Intellectually curious and eager to learn more about the latest in artificial intelligence; critical eye on advancements, teams, and leadership
- Has a natural way with words, style, and tone; ability to edit to and match a distinct voice
- Proactive, energetic, constantly thinking about new ways to be redesign systems or processes to be more efficient, does not wait for perfect instructions, strong self-starter, able to work autonomously
- Ability to work with other team members (including graphic designer, virtual assistant, and video editor)
- Knows how to use social media, email, and automation tools, fast learner for new tools that may come out (all previous platforms mentioned plus tools like Zapier, Canva, Repurpose.io, CRM tools, Notion, Hootsuite, ChatGPT, GPT for Sheets, Descript, Substack, Mailchimp, Gumroad, etc.); creates the strategy for use of these tools and executes
- Maintains confidentiality, data privacy, and earns trust with team members and customers
- Shared vision: a strong desire to help educate a billion people on AI, help businesses take valuable and ethical action, increase diversity and inclusion in AI, and uplift underrepresented voices in tech and AI
Preferred Qualifications
- Several years experience managing social media channels and communities professionally
- Technical experience in machine learning and/or relevant education (including computer science, math, physics, machine learning, statistics, data science)
- Experience working with and uplifting underrepresented voices in technology and AI
- Deep familiarity with Allie's current social media platforms, content, and work
- Advanced-level skills in writing and editing
- Ability to earn trust with and interface with executives and brand partners
- Able to work together in person in NYC
What happened to the last person in this job?
I love them both. I've had two social media managers in the past, both for several years, both engineers with incredible ops and writing/editing skills who wanted to branch more into social media. I hired one full-time to one of my previous teams and helped get the other a full-time job at one of the world's top AI startups. They're incredible and I still talk to them -- and send them AI memes :) -- regularly, but I need someone who can work more hours and during weekdays.
